Crystallographic research in Switzerland started in 1856, with Gustav Kenngott, a professor of mineralogy at ETH and University of Zurich. Since then, efforts of Scherrer, Debye, von Laue, Niggli, Dunitz and many others have helped create modern crystallography at Swiss institutes and worldwide.
The Swiss Society for Crystallography was founded in 1968 by crystallographers, chemists, solid-state physicists and mineralogists. To date, the society serves as a common forum for interdisciplinary scientific exchange.
Dubravka Šišak Jung, application scientist materials science, will attend the annual meeting of the SSCr at the Paul Scherrer Institute in Villigen. Come talk to her about your applications and your X-ray detection needs.
